Homework Hotspots
November 28, 2017
We all have to do homework in high school, but sometimes we don’t want to do it at home. Being at home can be distracting sometimes, and if you are one of the people who gets distracted at home easily this is for you. I am going to recommend a few places other than home that will help you be productive and finish your work on time.
The first place I would recommend to do homework at after school is the library. The library can be a quiet place to focus on your work and generally will be open to students after school. Another place is Beans and Brews on 3255 East and 3300 South. This spot is usually not too crowded, and it’s quiet. You can enjoy some coffee while you work and it is pretty close to Skyline, being just under a mile away.
If you are willing to drive to Sugarhouse there are some pretty cool options for you. Sugarhouse Coffee on 2011 South and 1100 East that offers a large space to work, great coffee, and some snacks that can be vegetarian-friendly. It can get pretty crowded sometimes, especially on weekends, so don’t expect to be the only person there. Ninth and Ninth is a gentrified area with some well-known places like the Tower Theater and Coffee Garden.
Coffee Garden is a popular hangout spot located next to Cahoots and offers a lot of tables which are perfect for homework. The downside to Coffee Garden is that it’s usually pretty loud and crowded, sometimes it’s hard to even find a seat to work at. The last recommended homework hotspot is the classic Salt Lake City Library located at 210 East and 400 South.
This library is huge and offers a lot of options in terms of workspace. The building is quieter towards the top while the lower levels are usually a little bit louder. If you enjoy drinking coffee, there is a cafe on the first level as well as the general browsing library. If you feel hungry while working, there is a cantina on the second level to satisfy your needs. Usually, the library is not too crowded either.
