With the rip of a ticket, students were admitted into Skyline’s 2025 Homecoming dance.
“Home Sweet Homecoming” was the theme for the 2025 dance.
Skyline was able to host the homecoming dance for students and their friends. “It was fun hanging out with all my friends and getting together to dance,” says Camilla Codell, a Sophomore at Skyline.
Experiences varied from person to person. Some spent their night being swept off their feet by dates, while others danced the night away with their friends. “I think the experience was a nine out of ten, because they didn’t have any food and I was starving,” shares Skyline Sophomore Jackson Selleck.
There is some debate about the music choices made for the Homecoming dance. Some loved it, and some did not. “I think they should have a form for what music suggestions there are, then go through those different choices,” says Codell. “I hear a lot of people also mentioning the bad music,” she adds.
Another topic for debate has been the process of getting students from other schools into the dance. Many people weren’t aware of it and had to get codes at the last minute. Codes were distributed by the office so that guests could purchase tickets for Skyline’s Homecoming dance. Many peoples’ codes were not working. Codell shared her thoughts on this system: “I think the school did a bad job of mentioning that to the other students, and everyone had to cram it in last minute.” Despite all the hassle a lot of people enjoyed their time.
Homecoming season brings out school spirit in a lot of people. Whether it’s during the Homecoming dress-up week or the annual Homecoming football game, Skyline brings it on.
This Homecoming season Skyline played Cottonwood. The theme for Skyline’s student section was White Out. Skyline took home a big win with the score of 62–17. “We won, and I had a lot of fun,” says Selleck.
Many people enjoyed the Homecoming dance, whether they spent the night with friends or with a date. “I think it got its high points because it was lively,” says Selleck.
