As autumn approaches, Skyline students have begun to transition to warmer attire. Recently, the weather at Skyline has begun to drop, especially in the early hours of the school day. The temperature at Skyline High School is colder than the outdoors, causing students to look for new clothing alternatives.

Some popular clothing choices during the autumn season include flannel shirts, cardigans, and hoodies. Flannel shirts are often seen being worn alongside denim pants, while cardigans are paired with loose dress pants. While some students choose to dress up for school, others prefer comfort over style which is why many turn to the hoodie as their go-to top during the autumn and winter seasons. One student said, “Hoodies are just so comfortable [and] an easy choice, especially when you don’t know what to wear.” Another common article of clothing during the fall season is sweatpants. Sweatpants are very comfortable and keep a good amount of heat in which is why many wear them.

When it comes to clothing choices, color also matters. Neutral color palettes are very popular among students during the autumn season. While all colors of clothing are seen throughout the school year, primarily earthy colors are worn this time of year. Black, brown, green, and white are some of the most worn color combinations. However, with denim, the most popular colors are light blue and black.

Many students have a hard time choosing what to wear because of the school’s temperature. A lot of students have found issues with this, as it affects what they want to wear. “I hate that it gets so hot when school ends, it’s freezing in school and burning outside,” another student said. A great alternative that many have begun to wear are zip up jackets, as it makes taking the sweater off at the end of the school day much easier. Thinner clothing is also an option among students since it compromises with the temperature both inside and outside. Some students wear shorts with a hoodie to also help with this problem, since at the end of the day they can just take the hoodie off.
